Acting From a very early age Jo was acting. With a mother involved in local theatre it was inevitable. Many years at theatre workshop, were followed by staying on for an extra two years and refusing to leave at the normal graduation time and thus helping to run the classes. At the same time she was taking parts in other productions and later was involved in setting up a small local theatre group with other like minded individuals. Now the nearest Jo gets to theatre performances is playing Madelaine - her medieval minstrel character for The Travelling Tales productions of "The Peasants Pageant (or soon to be added to the repetoire - a norse maiden in "Feast for Frigg - Tales and Ales, Runes and Tunes" - another Catspaw Banquet show). Jo far prefers the relative immediacy of working with camera and is always on the look out for interesting roles, ideally those which involve some degree of physical performance, possibly even incorporating some form of fluid dance. Straight acting is great too - after all, all movement can be considered dance and the co-ordination involved in a good fight scene or (in one fun shoot a violent bedroom assault) uses all the skills of a dancer. Her role models are a rather unusual combination of Andy Serkis (for the devotion to detail in physical performance), Robert DeNiro (the sheer intensity of every part), Goldy Hawn (for managing to play bimbos we don't despise) and June Brown (for such intensely real and human delivery of characters) making for a unique mix of style and a willingness to address all decent parts.
